Policy Statement

Be Well: Bodywork & Massage Therapy currently offers Swedish Massage, Deep Tissue Therapy, Trigger Point Therapy, Myofascial Therapy, Muscle Taping Therapy, Hot Stone Therapy, Reflexology, and Manual Lymphatic Drainage and will be continually learning new techniques and modalities to bring you an even larger selection of therapies. It is unacceptable and unlawful for any massage therapist to perform any service that he/she has not had training for. Furthermore, a massage therapist may not diagnose or medically treat a client as this is not in our scope of practice. Forseth takes new courses every year to bring a greater variety of bodywork to her clients. Please inform your therapist if you are interested in any other type of bodywork. If your therapist is not trained in that specific type of bodywork she should be able to refer you to someone who is.

It is customary to shower as close to the time of your appointment as possible. This makes the massage experience healthier and more enjoyable for the client as well as the therapist. Clients are encouraged to undress to their level of comfort. When a client undresses completely he/she will be conservatively draped throughout the duration of the massage. Only the part of the body that is receiving treatment will be exposed. The genitals will never be exposed or massaged nor will the breasts of women be exposed or massaged unless she has given written consent. A full body massage includes the back, arms, hands, neck, head, face, chest, abdomen, buttocks, legs, and feet. If you are concerned about any part of your body being worked on please inform your therapist before your session begins. If you do not want any part of your body worked on, you must inform your therapist of each area which you would like to be avoided.

In a case where a client chooses to keep underwear or a bra on during a massage, your therapist will not work underneath the client's clothing unless given permission. Clients should be aware that leaving undergarments on will affect the massage's flow and relaxing benefits because your therapist will not be able to perform as many long, soothing strokes.

During a massage session there are to be no visitors in the building except in the case of a minor. If a person under the age of 17 years old is to receive a massage it is required that a guardian is in the room with him/her. The Guardian of anyone under 17 years old must provide written consent for him or her to receive massage treatment. In no other case will visitors be acceptable.

Sexual misconduct will be dealt with very seriously at this establishment. The relationship between a Massage Practitioner and their client is strictly professional. Sexual behavior by the client toward the therapist is always unethical and inappropriate. Any sexual conduct or behavior will result in immediate termination of the session with payment of the entire session and appointment time due in full.

Our Fees for massage and bodywork are currently posted as follows: $100 for a 60 minute massage, $120 for a 75 minute massage, $140 for a 90 minute massage, and $180 for a 120 minute massage. Add-on treatments such as, Hot Stone Therapy, Deep Tissue Therapy, and Aromatherapy are therapeutic treatments which enhance the effects of your massage may be added to your session for an additional charge. Please refer tohttp://bewell.abmp.com/services-and-rates for more information. Payment is due at time of services rendered. These fees are subject to change at any time.

We accept cash, personal checks, and all major credit cards. Gratuity is always appreciated and can be done in the same manner you might tip your waitstaff at a restaurant. Treatment costs will be displayed at all times. If you have any questions or concerns about the cost of the session, please bring them up before your session begins. In a case where a client writes a check to pay for our services with insufficient funds, the client will be charged the bounced check fee and checks from that client will no longer be accepted as payment.

New clients must fill out a client intake form wherein personal information, health history, reason for seeking massage treatment, the treatment agreed upon, and other information will be disclosed. We ask that new clients arrive at least 10 minutes prior to the time of their massage session in order to allow adequate time for the completion and discussion of this form. This way, no time is taken from your treatment session. This form must be completed, discussed, and signed by both the client and the therapist before any massage treatments may be administered. If, for any reason, any of this information changes, the client must inform the therapist before their next session has begun.

Making an appointment with your therapist reserves time exclusively for you. We ask that all clients arrive at least 5 minutes prior to the time of their appointment to discuss the treatment plan and any new developments in their health history. If you should need to cancel your appointment, please do so with 24 hours' notice, or you will be charged for your session. Payment for the full missed session will be required. If you cancel with less than 24 hours' notice and your therapist is able to fill your appointment time slot, you will not be charged. You are welcome to transfer your appointment to someone else as long as you inform your therapist first so that she may speak with them about what to expect prior to the massage session. If you are late for your appointment, please understand that you may not be able to receive the full length of the session which you made the appointment for.

Please turn off all pagers, cell phones, and notification devices when you are receiving treatment to improve your state of relaxation. Also, please remove all jewelry including earrings, watches, necklaces, and rings to allow your therapist to massage those areas and also avoid getting any oil on your jewelry. Clients with long hair may wish to tie it up in a high ponytail in order to avoid excessive oil in their hair.

In order to increase client comfort and their enjoyment of the massage session, clients are welcome to bring their own music on an MP3 player to be played throughout their massage session. Please make sure the music that you bring will not distract you or disrupt your massage treatment.

During the massage, your therapist may ask you about pressure, temperature, or general comfort. Please feel free to tell your therapist if you would like her to adjust the pressure or if anything is at all painful or uncomfortable. Also, let your therapist know if you need temperature of the table warmer, heat packs, hot towels, or hot stones to be adjusted. The treatment room is a controlled environment so, be sure to let your massage therapist know if there is anything that can be adjusted to make you more comfortable and make the treatment session as enjoyable as possible for you. Your feedback will help your therapist to treat you more effectively. Although communication is important during a treatment session Forseth does her best work when she is quiet and focused therefore she tries to keep talking to a minimum in order to give you a greater chance to completely relax.
